बड़े दिनों से कोई हिन्दी फिल्म पोस्ट करने के बारे मे सोच रहा था परंतु यह निर्णय नहीं ले पा रहा था की कौन सी फिल्म पोस्ट करूँ, आखिरकार गड़तन्त्र दिवस के इस शुभ अवसर पर सोचा की कोई देश भक्ति से लबरेज फिल्म ही पोस्ट की जाये। तो आज मैं ले के आया हूँ 1968 में रिलीज़ हुई रमानन्द सागर द्वारा निर्देशित और धर्मेंद्र, माला सिन्हा और महमूद जैसे कलाकारों से सजी और हिन्दी फिल्म जगत में जासूसी फिल्मों की श्रेणी में एक विशेष स्थान रखने वाली फिल्म जिसका नाम है ‘आँखें’।
यह मेरी सबसे पसंदीदा फिल्मों में है और मैं इसको जब भी देखता हूँ कभी अपने आपको फिल्म से बोर नहीं पाता हूँ। फिर ये फिल्म की कहानी और निर्देशन है या फिर मेरा धर्मेंद्र और मला सिन्हा की जोड़ी के लिया प्रेम ये मैं कुछ कह नहीं सकता, लेकिन आज भी जब भी मैं इस फिल्म को देखने के लिए बैठता हूँ मैं इसका पूरी तरह से आनंद लेता हूँ।
अब पहले बात करता हूँ अपनी बेहद पसंदीदा जोड़ी धर्मेंद्र और माला सिन्हा की। हालांकि धर्मेंद्र ने हेमा मालिनी के साथ सबसे जादा लगभग 40 फिल्में की और उनके साथ हिन्दी फिल्म इतिहास की सबसे सफल जोड़ी बनाई परंतु मुझे धर्मेंद्र हमेशा माला सिन्हा जी के साथ जादा पसंद रहे हैं। जहां तक मेरी जानकारी है इन दोनों ने एक साथ 7 फिल्मों मे काम किया था। ये सफर अनपढ़ (1962) जो की शायद धर्मेंद्र की चौथी या पाँचवी फिल्म थी से शुरू हुआ था और फिर पूजा के फूल (1964), नीला आकाश (1965), बहारें फिर भी आएंगी (1966),जब याद किसी की आती है (1967), आँखें (1968) और ललकार (1972) तक जारी रहा। इन दोनों की जोड़ी को बहुत सराहा गया और सारी फिल्में बहू सफल रहीं।
अब बात इस फिल्म की,आँखें मे रामानन्द सागर ने धर्मेंद्र को काफी पहले ही साइन कर लिया था परंतु तब तक चूंकि धर्मेंद्र उतने बड़े स्टार नहीं थे और ये सोच कर की कहीं ये महत्वाकांछी फिल्म इस कारण से असफल न हो जाये सागर जी ने उस समय की बेहद सफल अभिनेत्री माला सिन्हा जी को इस फिल्म मे लिया। हालांकि फिल्म बनते बनते धर्मेंद्र हकीकत,काजल, शिकार जैसी फिल्मों के सफल होने की वजह से एक जाना पहचाना नाम बन गए थे और इसका फायदा इस फिल्म को भी मिला, और फिल्म वर्ष 1968 की सबसे सफल फिल्म साबित हुई। फिल्म की मूल श्रेणी जासूसी है जो उस वक़्त तक हिन्दी फिल्मों में लगभग ना के बराबर ही प्रयोग किया गया था, इस फिल्म की सफलता ने ही आगे जा कर ललकार (1972),एजेंट विनोद (1975) जैसी फिल्में बनाने के लिए निर्देसकोण को प्रेरित किया था । रामानन्द सागर जी ने बहुत ही कसा हुआ और बेहतरीन निर्देशन किया है। फिल्म की कहानी बहुत उम्दा है तो इसका संगीत भी बहुत बेहतरीन है॰ फिल्म का संगीत दिया है रवि ने और बोल लिखे हैं हसरत जयपुरी न, आखिर कोई ‘मिलती है ज़िंदगी मे’, ‘गैरों पे करम’ और ‘उस देश की सरहद को’ जैसे गीतो को भूल सकता है क्या? अन्य सभी कलाकारों ने भी अपने अपने पात्र बखूबी निभाए हैं। आखिर मे बस यही कहूँगा की देशभक्ति से ओत-प्रोत एक बेहतरीन फिल्म जिसे आप सराहे बिना नहीं रह पाएंगे।

Shortly after independence India faces terrorists attacks in Assam, resulting in many deaths and casualties. A group of concerned citizens, who are not connected with the government, decide to do something to stop this carnage. While Salim is already at work in Beirut, his cover is blown and he is shot dead. Now Sunil Mehra must travel to Beirut and take over. Once there, he meets a former flame, Meenakshi Mehta, and a female admirer by the name of Zenab.
The terrorists are headed by a man named Syed, who deputes one of his assistants, Madame, to spy on Sunil's dad, Diwan Chand Mehra, by posing as Mehra's daughter's aunt, forcing her to obey by abducting her son, Babloo, and holding him captive. Soon Syed and his associates, including Doctor X and Captain find out all secrets of Mehra, as a result of which Sunil is trapped and held by Syed. Then Diwan's world is shattered when Meenakshi telephonically informs him that Sunil has been killed. The question remains what will happen to Babloo, Diwan, and the rest of the concerned citizens, especially when they have become vulnerable due to Madame's presence in their very household.
