नमस्कार मित्रों,

चलिये अब दो हालीवुड फिल्में पोस्ट करने के पश्चात मुझे लगता है की एक बार फिर से कोई अच्छी सी हिन्दी फिल्म पोस्ट करनी चाहिए, इसलिए आज मैं आप सब के लिए लाया हूँ 1963 में रिलीज़ हुई और सुनील दत्त, वहीदा रहमान और मुमताज़ के अभिनय से सजी फिल्म ‘मुझे जीने दो’॰ इस फिल्म से सुनील दत्त ने डकैत का पात्र निभाया है जो की मेरी नज़र में उनसे अच्छा कोई भी नहीं अदा कर सकता और सच में कहूँ तो वो मेरे सबसे पसंदीदा डकैत हैं॰ फिल्म ने टिकट खिड़की पे बहुत अच्छा व्यवसाय किया और उस वर्ष की सबसे सफल फिल्मों की फेहरिस्त में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया॰

   हालांकि इस फिल्म से पहले जिस फिल्म में भी डकैत को प्रमुख पृस्ठभूमि में दिखाया गया उसमे उसे हमेशा उसे क्रूर और कठोर दिखाया गया परंतु इस फिल्म के साथ निर्देशक मोनी भट्टाचार्य (जिनहोने ‘दो बीघा जमीन’ और ‘मधुमती’ में बिमल रॉय को असिस्ट किया था) ने डकैत के एक मानवीय और भावुक रूप को छूने का प्रयत्न किया, उन्होने दिखाया की हालांकि डकैत निर्मम होते हैं परंतु वो भी इंसान हैं और ऐसा नहीं है की उनका दिल नहीं पिघल सकता॰ एक डकैत की प्रेम कहानी को केंद्र में लेकर इस पूरी फिल्म को पिरोया गया है॰

    फिल्म की शूटिंग चंबल की पहाड़ियों (जो की वहाँ के डाकुओं के लिए प्रसिद्ध है) में पोलिस की प्रोटेक्शन के साथ की गयी जिसने इस फिल्म को और भी जीवंत बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा की है॰

    मोनी भट्टाचार्य जिनके निर्देशक के तौर पे ये पहली फिल्म है ने बड़ा ही अच्छा निर्देशन किया है और हर कलाकार से उसका सबसे बेहतरीन अभिनय कराने के प्रयास किया है॰ सुनील दत्त ने अपने अभिनय को इस फिल्म से नयी ऊंचाइयों तक पाहुचाया और इसी लिए उन्हे इस वर्ष का ‘फिल्मफेयर सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेता’का पुरस्कार भी प्रदान किया गया था॰ वहीदा जी तो हैं ही कालजयी अभिनेत्री॰ अन्य कलाकारों ने भी अपने अपने पात्र बखूबी निभाए हैं॰

   फिल्म का संगीत दिया था जयदेव ने और जो की बहुत प्रसिद्ध हुआ था॰ मुझे विश्वास है की आप सब को ‘नदी नारे ना जाओ श्याम पैया पडू’ तो जरूर याद ही होगा॰

   चलिये आज फिल्म की कहानी अपने से हिन्दी में लिखने का समय तो नहीं है इसलिए इसे IMDb से ही कॉपी करके अँग्रेजी में ही दे रहा हूँ॰ आगे अगर समय मिलेगा तो उसे बाद में हिन्दी में लिखने का प्रयास करूंगा॰

   आशा करता हूँ की मेरी अन्य पोस्टों की तरह ये फिल्म भी आप सब को पसंद आएगी॰

Plot- 
Thakur Jarnail Singh is known and feared in the region and has killed anyone who has dared to oppose him. He shoots down Champa's husband ruthlessly in front of her eyes, ignoring her pleas for mercy when the former refuses to provide ammunition and guns. He then shows up in full force during a wedding ceremony at the Zamindar's mansion and abducts a courtesan, Chamelijaan. Subsequently, he rescues her from his henchman, Thakur Kripal Singh, and with her consent, marries her in the presence of Pandit Ram Avtar and Maulana Sheikh Rahim. Shortly thereafter she becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy who they name Sheru. With the child growing up, the Superintendent of Police hot on his tail, the trio go on the run and separate. A traumatized Chamelijaan must decide about their future when she not only goes to live in the same village as Champa - but watches her son learn to ride horses and take up firearms.
